The Outer Space Men!

The Outer Space Men!
Synopsis of Toy

In 1968, the Colorform company made a bold attempt at cracking the action figure market with a set of seven bendable rubber "Outer Space Men," each named after a different planet in Earth's solar system. Although the toy line was not initially successful, the innovative and fantastical design made lasting impressions on those children who owned them. Much like Star Trek, their popularity only grew after cancellation, and Colorform Aliens are now one of the more expensive toys to collect, a fact made even more acute because of the toy’s somewhat fragile elements.

Encased in the rubber at the limbs and neck, Colorform Aliens were fitted with stiff lead wires that allowed for a semi-permanent articulation of the figure's body. Unfortunately, as many sad, sad children discovered, the more posing effected on the figure, the more the internal wires had a tendency to bend out of shape or, worse yet, break—rendering the Outer Space Man a hopeless, gimpy mess.

The design of Colorform Aliens both on the packaging and the figure itself was indisputably one of their coolest features. Colorful, space age motifs combined with the tantalizing elements of mythology, science fiction and obscured lines of good vs. evil (who was to say which Alien was the hero and which was the villain?) made for an especially alluring toy. Several of the figures, such as Alpha 7 The Man From Mars, had permanently fixed colored plastic bubble space helmets around their heads, which instantly and mysteriously made them highly coveted. That is, with the exception of Commander Comet—the only human looking figure in the bunch—who was apparently just too white bread to be cool. Even with the space helmet.

Many kids spent fruitless hours trying to complete their collection of Colorform Aliens. Several of the original sets of figures were produced in such low quantities as to make them nearly impossible to attain. These were invariably the best figures and the ones that only your most hated schoolyard enemies owned. Of course, this made it necessary for you to humiliate yourself by making alliances with kids whom you normally feared and despised, just to get your hands on their sweet, sweet Colorform Aliens.

Colorform planned a second set of figures called The World of the Future, which was unfortunately never mass produced and now only exists in the hands of collectors rich or crazy enough to pay the exorbitant prices these rare prototype units fetch. Instead of more figures, the company produced a few puzzles and a traditional Colorform set based on both the original figures and the never-produced second line of aliens. The Colorform set is worth having just to look at the hauntingly rad images of the figures you could never buy.

Although Colorform Aliens were innovative and eventually enjoyed a nearly pagan-like popularity among those who owned them at one time or another, the Colorform company never again tried to make action figures.

Everyone always speaks with a hint of jealous when talking about the youth of the 60s. All this carefree, promiscuous sex. All those carefree, who-cares-if-they-kill-me drugs. For a dramatic twist, all the riots, dangerous protests and war woes are romanticized, but rest assured, there's been no teen generation since who didn't wish they could grow up in that decade. Still, it wasn't just the teens and twenty-something who got to enjoy such beautiful and bohemian experiences back then. Even the kids were having fun. They weren't taking drugs or fucking each other, but they had some of the coolest toys of the whole damn century.

Colorforms, the company best known today for their colossal army of scenic cardboard backdrops and paper-thin plastic cartoon character dolls, tried to stake a claim in the era's action figure boom. Toy lines like G.I. Joe spawned a seemingly endless spinoff string of boy-version Barbie dolls, all of which needed to come equipped either with a rifle, a bayonet, or one of those extra-cool man-killing weapons that combined a rifle and a bayonet together. There were few 'pansy' boy toys back then. The only way a male child was gonna own any pink action figures is if the toys' painted-on blood lightened in the sunlight. All the toys seemed almost 'macho.' I guess it took a few decades for the men in the world to become in touch with their feminine side just enough to allow their sons to play with action figures that didn't have any connotations to murder, boxing, or the armed forces. Though Colorforms' figures fit the stereotype, I have to admit that they're way more fun than Sweet Secrets dolls.

They were called The Outer Space Men, a line of truly inspired and very unique alien characters each representing a different planet in our solar system. We're not talking about you're typical little green men with bulging black eyes. The Outer Space Men featured characters that were half-octopus, characters with two heads, characters with ape faces, and even characters from the fourth dimension. This was serious stuff. I honestly have no idea how rare these guys are today, but considering the time frame and how highly sought figures of this type generally are, I'd bet that they cost somewhere in the realm of sixty-five trillion dollars a piece. And double that if packaged. So, while none of us who were born too late to experience them the first time can afford to try it out now, at least we can look at the pretty pictures and wonder what it would've been like to chew their tiny plastic fingers off one by one like Larry Drake from Darkman.

So, before I go off into a fifth preliminary paragraph, which is rather pointless since 88% of you probably skip all this 'hi how are you' bullshit and move right towards the paragraphs under a colorful picture, today's article is my tribute to all thirteen figures created for Colorforms' The Outer Space Men series. I'd promise not to play favorites, but I'm a sucker for Saturn. And I've got a thing for Uranus. OH HO HO HAAAAA. Uranus jokes are so retro.

Though I scanned the packaged-toy pics, I should thank this fansite for some of the other pics and loads of great info on the line. If you like what you see here, go there next. And then after that, ride a pony.

COMMANDER COMET: There's two things about Commander Comet that makes me believe he's the closest thing to the line's hero character. First and most obviously, he received the 'commander' moniker. It's hard to argue with concrete salutations like that. More importantly though, Commander Comet is the only one in the set who's even remotely close to looking human. I mean sure, he's got his head stuck in a fishbowl and he flies around using angel wings, but other than that this guy could've been your next door neighbor. Unfortunately, Commander Comet doesn't represent Earth - none of the figures do. No, apparently, this guy's the heavenly ambassador from Venus. Comet comes dressed in a gold spacesuit, and the figure appears to be sucking in its stomach to hide its beer gut during the promotional photo shoot. Colorforms maintains that Commander Comet is a direct descendent of Zeus, but offers no proof to support such claims.

ALPHA 7: Alpha 7, the man from Mars, is the only one of the Outer Space Men who really looks the part. Almost all accounts of alien abductions taken from trailer whores and X-Files fan clubs paint a picture of extraterrestrial like appearing not unlike Alpha 7. The only real difference is that Alpha is much shorter, almost like a prepubescent baby alien who doesn't even know how to administer alien ass probe tests yet. The figure looks cool, but it's just way too much smaller than the others to be a favorite. I understand the need to mix things up a bit, but we're talking about a pretty big size difference here - some of the others are nearly three times Alpha's size. It seems like a gyp, but now I'm remembering that all action figures cost like thirty-nine cents each back then anyway. Who gives a shit? He was still a good deal. Like Comet Commander, Alpha 7 subscribes to the theory that you're not an alien unless you've got a goldfish tank on your head.

COLOSSUS REX: Colossus Rex hails from Jupiter, and shares his home planet's penchant for being really, really large. Looking sort of like an android version of that nasty Creature from the Black Lagoon, Colossus' bio-card mentions that he's an explorer, not a conqueror. I'm not sure I believe that, though. Shoulders don't get that broad unless someone's planning to start some trouble. The biography also mentions that he's invincible - totally impervious to pain. He's obviously never been forced to sit through that episode of Coach where the doctor tells Hayden that all those post-game whirlpool baths did a serious number on his sperm count.

XODIAC: I'm not sure how you pronounce that. Is it like 'Zodiac,' or maybe 'Chrisodiac?' See, that's why this line should've had an accompanying cartoon. They could've staged an intergalactic phone conversation between Commander Comet and Xodiac so the toy-buying public would know how to pronounce the guy's name when asking the staff if he was in stock. Xodiac represents my favorite planet, Saturn. His bio-card is marred by ridiculously obscure vocabulary words that were discontinued in the late-70s, but I think they were trying to say that he was the smartest of the Outer Space Men. I hope that's true, because he ain't gonna win any trophies with that physique. Xodiac is pencil thin throughout his entire body, with the only thing retaining a width larger than a tenth of a centimeter being his huge, red, ghastly head. I don't get the impression that Xodiac was one of the top players, which saddens me. Saturn deserved someone a little cooler. Why couldn't the gold lifeguard with the angel wings come from here instead of Venus? It ain't fair.

ORBITRON: Orbitron looks a lot like the famous Meluna Mutant, in fact seemingly too much so to be a coincidence. Then again, maybe it's not such a stretch for two completely different minds to hatch up an alien character with brains on the outside of their skulls. Orbitron comes from Uranus. You know, in typing that last sentence, I'm really starting to see the benefits in doing audiotape versions of these articles. As a figure, Orbitron is rather boring. He's got a skinny, bland body free of any creative juice, and a head that makes him look more like an inside-out pimp than something truly otherworldly. On the plus side, he might have the best name out of all the figures. But cool names won't win you any hearts unless you're currently looking for that special someone on the Love@AOL message boards. Orbitron sucks, just like a man from Uranus should.

ASTRO-NAUTILUS: Astro-Nautilus is probably the most inspired figure in the series. Admittedly, it wasn't a huge leap of faith to create an ocean-inspired monster coming from the planet Neptune, but it's so rare that the world becomes graced with the presence of action figures that are half-astronaut, half-octopus. No, it's actually even better than that. While a first glance suggests this guy as an octopus, he's really based on an even neater sea creature, the nautilus. What a shock, right? I mean, the only preliminary clue about that was the fact that they repeat the word 'nautilus' in its entirety in the character's name. I apologize for my temporary fall from grace, it's been a long night. According to his bio, Nautilus is one of the 'Triton people,' who secretly landed on Earth to inhabit its oceans. For further validity on that, I remember reading the same thing in my sixth grade social studies textbook.

ELECTRON-X: Pluto's entry into The Outer Space Men is one of my faves, mixing elements from classic aliens to The Wizard of Oz's Tin Man. Research reveals that Electron-X and others of his kind are actually made up of pure energy. That means he's the only toy in history who can keep up with the trendsetting, ultra-quick breakbeats in Darren's Dance Grooves. I'm more concerned with his cool purple head and that weird button in the middle of his chest which probably makes him explode. For added mystique, Electron-X comes with a gun so perfectly shaped like a dick that I can't believe it's not meant to be just that. Come on, it's not impossible that the guys on other worlds have removable dicks. And let's not discount the benefits of that, either. I know I'd take mine off before going to a funeral, because god forbid you get hard at one of those things. There's just no way to justify it no matter how much you try. I'm jealous of Electron-X. I have removable-penis envy.

That's the first series of Outer Space Men figures, and the only ones who ever hit the toy stores. The second series could be viewed on the packaging and in catalogs, but they never made it onto the shelves. Still, they're really interesting characters and since there's enough info out there to confirm their existence, I'm including them with this tribute. Just keep in mind that there's no way you could actually buy these figures. I love crushing your spirit.

INFERNO: Finally, someone from Mercury. The hottest planet gets the hottest figure, as Inferno was said to be composed of living fire that burned forever. Of course, the dumb idiot conceals all that cool stuff with a dumb gray spacesuit. If I was made of fire, I wouldn't hide it with all that crap. That's the kind of thing you'd want to show off. Inferno was to be released with a light-up head, and was surrounded by a background 'mane' of plastic flames. Now that all the planets besides Earth were covered, the remaining figures represented odder corners of the universe...

CYCLOPS: You'll love this one - a giant, one-eyed troll from the Milky Way. Cyclops seems to be the godlike entity of the series, supposedly the most powerful of all the figures. Too bad he's got one eye. That decreases his property value more than having a neighbor who paints daily greetings to the street on the side of his house using dark brown liquefied horse shit. The figure would've came with various extra sets of armor, and he ended up having more accessories than anyone else in the set. I guess Colorforms didn't think a one-eyed bull-man was enough to inspire sales on its own. They underestimate us.

GEMINI: If Gemini would've been released, I'm positive he'd have been every kid's favorite. Coming from the 'twin star Algol' or some shit, Gemini is the only figure that had two heads. And best of all, they're really great heads. Elongated, bulgy green heads. He would've had the coolest torso area even with one of those heads, but with two? He's a pure treasure. They so should license these guys out for a re-release. Even if they just sold a few hundred thousand in comic book stores with inflated prices, I think they'd do pretty well. If there was Gemini figure laying out in the middle of the street, I don't believe there's a person in the world who wouldn't pick him up and take him home after coming across it. Gemini figures could've easily replaced those collision ball sets as the desk toy of the century.

GAMMA-X: Gamma-X comes from the 'fourth dimension,' and they tried to illustrate that by affixing translucent plastic parts on the figure, making it look like it's JUMPIN' RIGHT OFF THE PACKAGE AND INTO YOUR MIND. The bio-cards for the would-be second series were somehow even more ridiculous than the first set. When referring to Gamma-X's powers of switching between the 3rd and 4th dimensions, they use terminology that makes a Sly Stallone interview read like Grover's There's A Monster At The End Of This Book. Gamma-X's super power was said to be the ability to walk through walls and other solid objects. I still don't think that's anywhere near as cool as Commander Comet's angel wings. But in Gamma-X's defense, I really don't think anything is as cool as Commander Comet's angel wings. They remind me of the first time I received the Body of Christ. I thought it tasted like those containers McDonald's shoves their breakfast value meals into.

MYSTRON: Mystron is from Hollow Earth, which is a lot like Regular Earth, only hollow. I guess that Hollow Earth's mantle is made up of packing peanuts, with the crust being a huge mass of crinkled-up newspaper. As a figure, Mystron doesn't hold a candle to his compatriots. There's nothing particularly 'special' about him, unless you count the head's vague resemblance to a giant vampire bat. While that's cool, it's not enough to pull him out of the series' Loser Pile. That aside, the back stories of these characters were pretty interesting. I don't think they were based on any existing lore, and it's surprising that they didn't at least try to get a comic book out of the license. Actually, it's pretty surprising that the line itself wasn't more popular than it was. The figures were terrific, and they came out in a time where there was a huge interest in anything having to do with UFOs. I guess Colorforms just didn't know how to market 'em. They should've paid a skywriter to decree their greatness over the football field during the 1970 Superbowl.

METAMORPHO: Metamorpho hails from Alpha Centauri, which I'm pretty sure is located just outside San Diego. His gimmick is the ability to mimic the appearance of any creature he meets, so the figure was able to switch between a few different alien faces. If that wasn't enough for you, he also came with two count 'em two intoxicating laser rayguns. Kind of looks a guy with elephantiasis of the head shoved into a Stormtrooper outfit, but the face-switching feature set the template for many action figures to come.

The Outer Space Men are almost forgotten today, the remaining figures being far too rare for a lot of people to collect. Despite that, I'd have to consider them about as perfect an action figure series as they come, combining every great and necessary element to create one of the most interesting, colorful, and fun series of toys I've ever seen. I've always thought of my generation as the ones who got the really cool toys, but even going back 15-20 years earlier, these were even better. I suppose I'd be more upset about it if I wasn't about to turn 24. I'm practically biting off my Lee Press-Ons with frustration, here.

When I was a kid there were lots of really cool toys but my favorite was a toy line called The Outer Space Men which was manufactured by Colorforms. I loved those toys… they were bendable action figures and each came from a different planet in our solar system. they were suppsoed to work in conjunction with Major Matt Mason another favorite of mine. My favorite alien was Colossus Rex the Man from Jupiter but Alpha 7 was a close second place too. Below is some stuff I found on the web about them. They don’t make toys like this any more fellas. In fact with video games action figures don’t even really anymore because kids don’t seem to want to have to imagine if they can have it done for them. Sad. In 30 years will there even be people who come up with original materials? Anyway check out The Outer Space Men! Cool stuff!
Alpha 7 The Man From MarsThe smallest of the aliens, he has a clear blue plastic helmet and a pistol. Alpha is the quintessential “little green man” He is finished in blue metallic paint. There are two variations, the dark blue paint seen here, and a lighter blue.Far below the surface of the dying planet Mars, the descendants of a once great race live on. Above them the majestic cities have long since crumbled and the vast canals lie buried beneath a silent sea of rust red sand. With time and water running out, Alpha 7 and the other members of the Martian armada travel the galaxy in search of a suitable planet to make their own. Their frequent reconnaissance missions and landings on our Earth have given rise to what most earth men consider “wild” stories of “flying saucers” and “little green men”.

Alpha 7
Astro Nautalis The Man From NeptuneThe rarest of the aliens, he comes with a trident. He appears to be a rough approximation of a squid or octopus, give or take a limb. Deep beneath the stormy seas of Neptune, great cities loom majestically in the shimmering twilight of a vast and beautiful water world. Here the mighty Triton people live. Not content to see the sun as but a glimmer and the stars as tiny ripples floating on the surface of the sea above, Astro Nautilus and his band of Triton mariners venture forth to sail and chart that greater ocean, Outer Space. Often visiting our planet they land, secretly, without all human knowledge, in the very depths of Earth’s great oceans.

Astro Nautalis
Commander Comet The Man From VenusThe only alien with a human appearance, he has a clear pink plastic helmet, white plastic wings and a brown crossbow. The commander is a cross between an astronaut and cupid. He was originally painted gold, but with time fades to a greenish color. From Olympus, largest of the great cloud cities of Venus, the mighty cloud ship Cumulus sets forth. Like a fiery comet it blazes through the blackness of outer space toward Earth. Its captain, Commander Comet, is a direct descendant of the mighty Zeus, leader of the historic first Venusian expedition to Earth, which landed near the Grecian Isles 3,000 years ago. Commander Comet’s present mission is one of routine Earth surveillance, and once within the atmosphere of Earth, his ship will join the great fleet of Venusian craft that float like clouds above our planet night and day, watching undetected over our world.

Commander Comet
Electron + The Man From Pluto1950’s movie style android with clear purple plastic helmet, amber jewel in his chest and sidearm. He has a benign almost angelic expression. He is gray rubber, painted silver. The cold and desolate planet Pluto is too far from the sun to derive its heat and, thus, the very atmosphere lies frozen and life as we know it cannot exist. But there, at the very edge of our solar system, the great Intergalactic Winds that blow between the stars carry with them great masses of cosmic energy. In the beginning, this living energy bombarding the frozen planet did itself freeze to become living matter and, thus, a mighty race of beings began. Created of energy, they can become energy at will and Electron +, from his laboratory in Electra City, can transport himself throughout the universe as a beam of light.

Electron
Orbiron The Man From Uranus (No Jokes, Please)Do you remember the Metaluna Mutant from “This Island Earth”? Orbitron has a clear red pistol. Orange with brown accents.
From the barren mountains of Uranus great waves of thought reach out through the blackness of outer space probing the universe. Thus, Orbitron and the men of Uranus search the stars seeking the lost knowledge of the Ancient Ones. On great ships they travel to the farthest reaches of our galaxy and beyond. Able to read the minds of men, they have collected the learning of a thousand worlds, and yet they go on searching in a never ending quest to learn that which it has been ordained no man shall ever know.

Orbitron
Colossus Rex The Man From Jupiter Large, knurled, and for some reason, aquatic. Comes with translucent purple mace. The mace has a small loop at the end to facilitate his holding it. Green rubber with aqua metallic paint and purple shorts.
From the huge red spot near the equator of the giant planet Jupiter, a great ship travels forth. On board is the mighty warrior, Colossus Rex, strongest of the strong. The colossal strength needed merely to survive the crushing pressure of the atmosphere and enormous force of gravity on his native Jupiter make him a veritable superman on other worlds. Invulnerable to attack, invincible in battle, brute strength alone is his only weapon. Yet no power in the galaxy can defeat him. We hope his mission is merely to explore the universe and not to conquer it.

Colossus Rex
Xodiac The Man From SaturnXodiac has clear orange accessories including a helmet, staff and pistol. The staff is fragile and easily broken. There is a saturn logo on his chest. He is orange fluorescent rubber with dark blue metallic paint.Saturn is the most beautiful of all the planets. Its symmetrical rings give it a matchless grace and there is nothing like them anywhere else in the solar system. Constructed and placed in orbit by the Elders, millenniums ago, they give the people of Saturn complete mastery over the forces of gravity on their planet. Thus, all work is done by perpetual motion and men can fly above their world in great machines tuned to the frequency of the rings. Freed from manual labor, the men of Saturn have developed great wisdom and the wisest among them is Xodiac. It is said of him that he can tune his staff to play upon the great rings; the music of the spheres resounding throughout the universe to be heard by wise men everywhere.

I seem to remember the packages looking different where sold these toys at Renals.

At the Earth's Core 1975

Pellucidar

The world is hollow, you say? An absurd idea! But at one time many believed this to be the case. Some still do.

Edmund Halley is most famous for the comet named after him. He also thought the earth was hollow, a theory he proposed in 1692. The biggest push for the idea, though, came from John Cleves Symmes, who published a pamphlet in 1818 describing how access to the interior could be achieved by traveling through openings at both the north and south poles. Symmes even petitioned the U.S. Congress to fund an expedition to "Symmes Hole"! Alas, Congress wasn't interested.

By 1913 scientists were pretty much in agreement that "the earth is neither hollow nor stuffed with sawdust" (as one of them wrote) but the idea of another world beneath our feet was too good to let die, so in that year Burroughs resurrected the hollow earth in At the Earth's Core. David Innes and Abner Perry build a giant mechanical prospector with which they hope to uncover vast mineral deposits far beneath the surface. On the "Iron Mole's" first trip, however, they discover that their vehicle can't be steered! Death seems certain, for doesn't everyone know that the center of the earth is a molten mass of white-hot magma?

Instead what Innes and Perry discover is that the earth's crust in only 500 miles thick and that the inner surface is inhabited. This is the land of Pellucidar, a place where dinosaurs roam through the jungles, and where saber-toothed tigers hunt the mastodon and mammoth. A tiny sun, the molten core of the earth, hangs in the center of the heavens, shedding perpetual daylight upon Pellucidar. Because the sun never sets, because it is always* now*, there is no such thing as time in Pellucidar! Stranger still, because Pellucidar rests on the inner side of the earth's crust, there is no horizon. The land curves* upwards*, as if you were standing on the inside of a gigantic bowl.

Humans dwell in Pellucidar as well, stone-age men and women who must fight to survive in this savage world. Even worse, these people have been made slaves of the Mahars, a race of intelligent but sinister reptiles who look upon humans as nothing more than beast of burden ~ or as tasty snacks in one of their ghoulish ceremonies!

The struggle of David Innes and Abner Perry to free humanity from the Mahar tyranny is only the beginning of their adventures in Pellucidar. There are a total of seven books in this exciting series, in which Edgar Rice Burroughs takes you on journeys across savage seas infested with plesiosaurs and other hungry creatures, to mountains where pterodactyls roost, and to lands where every waking moment is a struggle to survive. Even Tarzan visits Pellucidar, taking a ride on a dirigible through "Symmes Hole" at the North Pole! So take a journey, via Iron Mole or dirigible, and discover for yourself the wonders, the terrors, and the excitement of Pellucidar!

The complete Pellucidar series!

Edgar Rice Burroughs' At the Earth's Core (1976) - (UK: complete title)

Interesting Bits of Trivia:
Actor/stuntman Bobby Parr who played the Sagoth Chief, lost a finger during a fight
sequence with Doug McClure that went wrong.

In the first place please bear in mind that I do not expect you to believe this story.Nor do I expect to believe this movie. It was made a very cheap budget, with guys in suites as Dinosaures.Don't expect Jurassic Park.Don't even expect lizards with flills like Irwin Allen's Lost World. No,expect Puffinstuff.

David Innes.

Cast Of Characters
Dr. Abner Perry: Victorian Era inventor who builds this drilling machine thingy called "The Mole". He appears a bit scattered a lot of the time but man can he shoot a bow.

David Innes: An American business man who's invested himself heavily in Dr. Perry's drilling machine. He used to be Dr. Perry's worst student, but now he's financing the "Mole" project and he's teamed up with the old Doc. He's very slick with the ladies, and for some reason, he bears a striking resemblance to Doug McClure and Bowen Tyler of The Land That Time Forgot. I wonder why that could be?

Princess Dia:She's Dian the Beautiful,in the novel. They must have Dian sounded too white bead or normal and gave the idiotic name Dia.Either or the Burrough Corporation was changing by the letters in novel and they could afford any more ''n''. She's a BABE and obviously works all low budget movies of the 197o's! She may not have much in the line of a formal edumacation, but when you got someone who's this incredibly beautiful, and who's a princess to boot! - I don't think having deep conversations with her will be the first thing that would come to mind.

Ra: Ra is one of those characters who starts out as a jerk, but then turns out to be a pretty cool guy and becomes friends with David. He's courageous, strong, and honorable. He's also the leader of one of the tribes. Unfortunately, he was cursed with one negative quality - his hair. Dude, seriously, that nappy hair is just way funky. I know it's the 70's and all but that thing's really gotta go. It looks like some kind of a clown wig or somethin'.

Gak: Gak is kind of a father figure and the leader of one of the other tribes. He doesn't do much and doesn't have a huge part in the movie. He probably just hung out at the catering truck most of the time downin' the chow.

Hoojah the Sly One: What a weasel this guy is. Besides being a general scumbag, he's also ugly, devious, treacherous, lecherous, and has breath that could knock a roadkill skunk off a crap wagon. And those are just his good points! Oh and ladies, by the way... He's available!

Jubal the Ugly One: This is one big dude, and he doesn't smell any better than Hoojah. Have you ever seen one of those movies where there's a really big dude with a really big club who tries to beat everyone over the head with it? Well, you're about to see another one. Jubal wants Dia for his mate real bad. He may be ugly but he's not blind. Well actually he is in one eye, but you can read about that in the "What The Hell???" section. David had to fight him to win the right to claim Dia as his own. Fortunately for David, he was contracted to work through the end of the film, and unfortunately for Jubal, he wasn't.

The Plot
When Dr. Perry invents a huge drilling machine, the Prospector or Iron Mole,as David Innes call it, with the help of a rich American businessman and former geology student by the name of David Innes, he couldn't have know what adventure awaited them.

When the drilling machine goes out of control, Dr. Perry and David find themselves in a strange underground world, below the earth's mantle. My biggest complaints at the time were events that were changed from the book and how small the world of Pellucidar felt.It looks small, like the stupid planet set the Classic Star Trek series. And Irwin Allen jungle don't help much.I mean, they try with lighting and say it's inside a big cave, but the fantastic stuff you of Pellicidar written in the books and seen comics, isn't here. This Pellicidar was small.

With a lava sky providing light and heat, and strange creatures and vegetation all around them, David and Dr. Perry begin exploring this strange underground realm, only to find that there's a race of humans living in this strange place, and they're being enslaved and used for food by a sentient race of psychic pterodactyls called the Meyhas.2) The cavemen look like hippies. Ghak the Hairy One and his kin should have been Frazetta-esque muscle-builders. Check out the guy talking to Doug McClure. He looks like Gab Kaplan from Welcome Back, Kotter! I agree with Ghak should saying every once awhile.Hey David I got a Joke for you.Two Pellicidarian walk into a cave.

1) The Sagoths were supposed to be apemen not pig-men. Having grown up on The Planet of the Apes films, this seemed a real let down. This may be one of the reasons they didn't do the sagoths that way. I suspect it was more likely budget. They may have tried to the Sagoth's look like Victoian Era British, but they should more monkey like.
Captured, and taken to Pellucidar, the Meyhas' underground empire, they set out to free the slaves, and themselves from the evil that has dominated this underground realm for untold generations.

What The Hell???
1. The drilling machine's got a really nice interior. Wood paneled dash board, comfy chairs, nice brass handles on the controls. Very sweet indeed.
2. I'm wondering how they expected to turn this thing. They're trying to steer it while it's digging through solid rock, but it's like long and straight. How are they supposed to turn it? Seems to me that all it should be able to do is go in a straight line. This is pretty actuate to ERB wrote. After some of the story he wrote gets muddled in alot of quick, jump of stuff writting.Burroughs was William Shakespear, but neither he a hack.He knew how usually to keep things going and wrote as if he was your dear old Uncle telling an adventure of his from some other time and place.
3. When David and Dr. Perry are first underground, they encounter a big dinosaur beast thing that chases them through the underground jungle. There's several funny things here. While they're being chased, Doc turns around and starts flipping his umbrella open and closed at the beast saying "Shoo! Shoo!" Then David sends Doc up a tree to get away from this huge thing. Then David lures the thing away and ends up running into a pit of quicksand. All to get away from a duck birb bill dinosaur beast they they could have outrun with four gammy legs and two pair of crutches with only minimal effort. I mean, this thing was totally slow.1) The Sagoths were supposed to be apemen not pig-men. Having grown up on The Planet of the Apes films, this seemed a real let down. This may be one of the reasons they didn't do the sagoths that way. I suspect it was more likely budget. They may have tried to the Sagoth's look like Victoian Era British, but they should more monkey like.
4. When Doc and David are captured by the Segoths and chained up with the other human prisoners, they meet Dia. As I stated above, Dia is gorgeous! But somebody please tell me - Why do all these people speak English?
5. Why did the Segoths let Doc keep his umbrella? They were quick to steal David's watch, but let Doc keep his umbrella. I guess he'll be using it to kick some butt in a later scene or something.
6. When the Segoth lead the prisoners into Pellucidar, they have to walk through a lava fall curtain. The curtain stops flowing when the bridge is lowered. How the hell could they #1 be so close to the lava without it killing them, and #2 walk over this stone bridge without burning the ever living crap out of their feet?

7. Why are all these big dudes letting the Sagoth push them around? The Sagoth are only about 5' 2" at the most and they look pretty weak. If they tried to push me around like that, I'd bitch-slap 'em into the middle of next week.

8. The prisoners are all eating, and what do I see in Doc's hand? A good sized pocket knife!!!! You mean to tell me that they couldn't have figured out some way to use it to help them escape a long time ago? That's almost like saying, "Oh gee, I almost forgot. I've had this gun in my pocket the whole time. I wonder if we can use it for anything?" Sometimes I wonder how smart Doc really is.

3) The Mahars, while accurate, aren't scary. Again, Mr. Frazetta set our expectation pretty high. What does a 13 year old know of the pressures of cheap film-making? I laugh now when I hear my own son complain about the film versions of Eragon and The Golden Compass. Human imagination and film-making, even in our CGI world, have a long way to go to meet up.
9. David finally fights the Sagoth and escapes to the outside where he's attacked by Ra for no reason. Now I've had crappy days before, but David just has no friggin' luck whatsoever.
10. While David and Ra are fighting, they end up rolling into this cave where Ra is attacked by some kind of man-eating plant creature. David saves his life and all of a sudden they're best buds. So they're sitting on the ground outside the cave, laughing together about what just happened, and all I can think is...who was doing these guys' hair? Most of the hair in this movie looks like bad wigs. By the way, Ra speaks English too. The cavemen look like hippies.
11. Two guys in a cave together. They have to climb up a very steep cave wall into the Meyhas grotto. So Ra jumps up and starts climbing the wall and as he does, David puts his hand on Ra's butt just to "give him a little push". I don't know about Ra, but if I all of a sudden felt a hand on my butt, I'd have fallen off the wall.
12. When the Meyhas fly, they swing around like they're on wires and barely move their wings. I don't really care how they were flying, I'm just glad I wasn't standing under them while they were doing it. If you think seagulls are bad, you definitely don't want to be under one of these things when they're flyin' around.
13. I wonder if the wardrobe guy was allowed to take his seeing eye dog into the wig shop with him when he was buying the hair for this movie.

14. Speaking of no luck... David and Ra are going back to try and rescue the slaves and destroy the Meyhas.Which is easy since fly on strings, unlike the ones in Edgar Rice Burroughs original novel. They don't make it very far before they're captured by the Segoth again. Some days it just don't pay to get out of bed.
15. David is given a spear and made to fight this big slow hippopotamus lookin' dinosaur thingy while Ra is chained to a rock. At one point when the hippo beast pushes David back into the crowd of slaves, you see this one woman behind him start smiling and almost laughing as she catches him when he falls back. I guess she finds the threat of being eaten by a giant prehistoric hippopotamus with massive teeth amusing. I mean, it is amusing, but at least she could have stayed in character long enough to finish the scene.
16. After the fight, Ra breaks his chains and then uses them to strangle a Meyhas that is flying down to grab David. Now that's one strong dude!
17. David and Doc escape the caves and in no time, they come across Dia and Hoojah! What luck! Unfortunately they're attacked by a big fire breathing dinosaur toad. Doc comes to the rescue though, killing it with several arrows to the face and throat! Woohoo!!! Nice shootin' Tex! Um, wait a second though. Somethin' just ain't right here. Now, I don't mean to kill the celebratory mood or anything, but where the hell did he find the bow and arrows? Did I miss something?
18. Ok now this is getting ridiculous. They're walking through the jungle and they come across Jubal and Hoojah! Jubal has a badly messed up eye. It looks like the eye of that dude in Cannibal: The Musical, except that Jubal's eye wasn't squirting puss at everyone.
19. So David kills Jubal and now all of a sudden Gak and Ra come piling out of the woodwork right into the clearing where Doc, David, and Dia are standing. Where the hell did they come from???
20. When Segoths die by falling into molten lava, they make a lot of sparks.
21. Ra takes a knife in the back but keeps on goin'! Now that's one tough dude!
22. One of the black tribes' guys who just flashes on the screen for a second as he's shooting a Meyhas with an arrow, looks just like Samuel L. Jackson.
23. I didn't know Meyhas exploded when they die!?!?
24. David just happens to find his watch that the Segoth stole, just as the whole place is exploding and falling apart around them. What luck!
25. Ok, I know there's like lava all over the place and everything, but why is everything exploding? Lava isn't explosive. At least I don't think it is. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
26. David wants to take Dia back with him at the end. She says she can't go because she would be lost in his world. So David leaves her behind!!!! Dude!!! What, are you blind or somethin'????? Where are you ever going to score a girl that looks like that in the above-ground world? I'll tell you something. If I was there, I'd just beat the ever living crap out of him for even considering doing something that stupid. Oh man she's beautiful. *Sigh*
27. So they're getting ready to leave, and I realize something. How the hell did they get the Mole, which had no power and was only sticking part way out of the ground, fully the rest of the way out of the ground and up on an angled frame so that it could dig back down into the earth? I mean this thing literally had to weigh at least 20 tons. Not to mention the fact that it had no power. I mean, if the good Dr. could fix the stupid thing and restore it's power, then why the heck did they get stranded there in the first place?
28. As the movie ends, the "Mole" comes drilling up through the front lawn of the White House. I don't know about back then, but if they did that today, they'd be vaporized in about a half a second by all the secret service guys with rocket launchers. Apparently back then, the taxes were lower, so all they could afford was two guards hangin' out by the front gate who turn around and run away whenever they see something weird...because that's exactly what happened.

The Conclusion

At the Earth's Core is one of those movies you remember watching on Saturday afternoon TV when you were a kid. It's fun, it's stupid, it has dumb looking monsters with bad costumes, it's plot is weak, and weird things happen for no apparent reason and without any warning. It's everything a kid could possibly want in a Saturday afternoon flick.

This is one of those movies that make you glad you grew up during the 70's. For those of us who did, this is more of a nostalgia trip than it would be for say, someone who was born in the 80's or 90's who would watch this film and probably just think it's dumb and cheap looking. Those of us who grew up in the 70's and watched shows like "Land of the Lost" will have a far greater appreciation for this type of film.

Peter Cushing was great in his role as Dr. Perry. It must have been a bizarre character to play, because there were so many aspects to it. His was a very complex character and he pulled it off well. David, who was played by Doug McClure, well, I mean, dude...it's Doug McClure.Whoopie.I mean the guy was likable enough, but he come across to what I imagined as David Innes. He made a better Bowen Tyler to be of if it was done Carson Napier. If you don't know what I'm talking about, watch any movie Doug McClure is in and you'll see the light. Dougie was born to act in these kinds of films. No Doug McClure needed to work and Amicus Productions had him there pay role. He lends just the right amount of cheese to the role while still being the tough guy. He ain't always the sharpest pencil in the box, but he somehow always seems to manage to survive and get the job done.

A lot of things didn't make sense in this film, as is evidenced by the large number of items in the "What The Hell???" section, but it just didn't matter. They could have had the Monkees pop out of a cave wall and start singing "I'm A Believer" and it wouldn't have hurt this film one little bit. It's just fun to watch. It's got a lot of action, cheesy monsters, hot chicks, and Doug McClure. What more could you possibly ask for? Oh, and by the way, the "Mole" is one really cool piece of hardware. I think you'll like it.
I could have asked something in the line of Star Wars-a bigger budget, not cheepo tv movie b movie drive crude budget and Indiana Jones action.Obviously they guy who reveiws this saw the movies and didn't the novels-which are better.Burrough, like Spielberg and Lucas understood action, adventure and giving the reader a fantastic setting for his characters to exist within.Amicus Production understood one Tarzan and Edgar Rice Burroughs sell-don't know why,but theres a buck to be made-hey Doug need a job-let roll film.

Doc Thompson

B-Movie Central's Rating: 5 Bees!
nay give maybe two Bees and call a guilty pleasure and not Star Wars or Indiana Jones.
Doc Thompson

Does the answer lie somewhere upon the bosom of the broad Sahara, at the end of two tiny wires, hidden beneath a lost cairn? I wonder.
And will they do a sequire. No,that can't adapt the next two or three books, because they had me leave Dia-Dia,who the fuck this Dia ?I was supposed to meet Dian the Beautiful. But I met dingy british gal, with buck teeth, from those Doctor Phibes movies.
PS.Wonder what Tarzan's doing.Probably hanging with Cheetah.
David Innes.

Who the fucks Cheetah ?
Tarzan.

Time Racers-was a proposed idea, about a supercar, think Knight Rider, that travel back in time, sort like the DeLorean,in Back to the Future. The car,a sleek black futuric racing car, called the Shadow Racer, something like mixing Speed Racer's Mach 5,with James Bond's Astin Martin, was pilotted by Marshall John Steel, his partner was Doctor Lazerus Sarkhon-a Time Sorcerer, attatched the project and a female. The car, equipted all sort of high gadgets, would be semi sentience, with an Artificial Intelligence, like Kitt. The three jump around time and space,by way of wormholes,to different places.
This was sort Back to the Future-the series.

Tunnel Stalkers

Various segments of the passenger compartments on these high-speed maglev trains can be removed as the train passes through the station. These removable sections can then take passengers to their local destinations while other compartments are lowered in their place. This method allows the main body of the train to remain in motion, thus conserving energy. In addition, the removable multi-functional compartments could be specially equipped to serve most transportation purposes.

* Tunnel Stalkers or Tunnel stalker-A term or slang term used to describe anyone, who pilots a subterranean Transport Tunnel, through the infinite transit system of the known as Terra Prime. Subterranean mag type train, capable of high speed transportation across the globe or around the inner surface or underground-neither-world of a or planet. These sub shuttle can be piloted anywhere within in the known or unknown worlds of Terra-Prime. The Invaders, who invaded much of the Great Land, where the many Shattered Empires of lie, have rerouted many of these tunnel systems. The Rangers have erected certain members to travel these sub shuttle tunnels to explore them and map location. Many of them lead to sub shuttle transit stations-where passengers can enter or exit the shuttle trains. Here at certain points, Special Cargo or Troop sub shuttles can load or unload cargo at these transit stations.
*
* Many of these Sub Shuttle Stations stop with the sub terrain sanctuary complexes known as New Genesis Bunkers. These part underground museum ,part shelter, part time capsule storage areas are created by the and used by many races, to protect and provide a sanctuary for a time during any worlds possible natural or artificial catastrophe. Used as a kind of Red Cross Disaster Relief station, generally built underground and located by various types of as New Genesis Bunkers Markers or Monolith-sometime found under a as New Genesis Bunkers Mountain structure, they are humanities way of beginning again-hence a kind of New Genesis or Origin for the local habitation and environment.
*
* One of the most notable family or House Clans to use this sub shuttle system was the Family.as ..The other,is the Family-such as David and his descendant .
*
* ==TTSA==

* The Terra- Sub Transit System Authority- - an elaborate Sub-shuttle transit system was constructed by the citizens of Terra-Prime way back in it’s early day, when the first built this world. It was a way the inhabitants of the Sphere could travel around the inner world or neither world, without having to use other , such as star ships, planes, boats and so forth. These Sub shuttles were a rapid transport system that utilized most likely magnetic levitation transports. They operated inside tunnels that ran at hundreds of miles per hour and provided a crisscrossing network of tunnel way-some with like Jump Points connected other similar tunnel-ways to other parts of the Sphere... The tunnels were comprehensive enough to cover the entire globe of Terra Prime and were maintained by the robotic Sentry Repair droids of the Sub Transit System Authority-a system most self automated by robots, but also managed by robot workers. Not only is it super-fast, but it means it wouldn't take as much energy as other kinds of transport.
* After the First Great Cataclysm, the Legendary , who founded the Rangers-who maintain peace among the Lands of the Shattered Empire, also had the Rangers pilot these Sub Shuttles –explore those Sub Transit Tunnel System for any Under dweller activity-those poor wretches, who inhabit the access tunnel maintain stations and underground complex areas, once used to provide shopping malls and entertainment malls, for passengers of the transit system. These had become an underground kind of piracy, who traveled about in Sub Shuttles to raid other near by cities and if possible the local New Genesis Bunkers. These Rangers-often called Tunnel Stalkers by the , would also explore and map new sub tunnel ways as they patrolled the transit system.
*

[edit] 1 ==The Underdwellers==

* The Underdwellers who still live within the tunnels, have over decades sprayed all sort of ruin like graffiti symbols all over certain parts of the tunnel system, as either a guide to their own Pirate Guild to read or a warning system for other Tunnel Pirate Clans to read and stay away from their territory. These , like many pirates have own Code of Conduction, Condition of Piracy and so for the. Many Pirates are made up anyone, whom fled to the Underground or neither world of Terra Prime. Some clans can be made up of Terran Species, such as standard , , , or . Some are even made up of deserters, or refugees.
* During the Great Invasion, the -from to his son Captain use the Sub Shuttle transit system, as a means to travel around the , without the knowledge of the , who cannot detect them, because the Guider Gem headband technology masks the alien bugs telepathic probing. To counter with the Masters often hijack the robotic Sentry Repair droids and use special probes, based on Technology to invade the tunnel droids Central AI or Artificial Intelligence Control Cortex. This reprograms the Sentry into a slave of the Hegemony and act as its slave worker. Now the Sentry becomes an unwilling spy and soldier of the Empire-hunting enemy targets, capturing more human and non human slave for the Empire. The Sentry will often either lie in hiding, pretending to be making repairs to one of the tunnels many maintains systems and use its on board sensor probes to locate any possible enemy traffic moving through the Sub Transit System. The Sentry will attempt to either crush the sub shuttle train moving through the tunnel, with it’s deadly worker tentacles or attempt invade the shuttle craft, by various means-ripping apart it’s outer hull, injecting it with some sort of corroding agent to dissolve the crafts outer steel hull and use probes to invade the shuttles systems or attempt to reach the shuttles pilot and capture him or her, with it’s tentacle claws.

*
* a Sub Shuttle Transport,is a standard, single transport vehicle, with two compartments in front, the pilots cockpit area and sub shuttle tunnel navigation station area to both sides, which contains mission operations, navigation and helm consoles.Four ,swiveling coaches-complete with gravity harness-that negates gravity forces against the passengers,as the shuttle moves forward, one for pilot and co=pilot,in front and two behind-one for the Navigator Officer on one side and opposite one for the Mission Ops Helm Officer.Behind this is the Cargo Hold, which subs as a briefing Ready Room, dinning area/Galley,Prisoners Brig and Cargo area.Behind this is The Troop Carrier or Secondary Cargo Hold, which can used as the Crews quarters, since the Coaches, can be converted into temporary sleeping beds, for the crew to use.Behind this is the Engine Room, where the Auxiliary Engine is located,to power and move the shuttle in an emergency, when mango rail system is damaged or destroyed and cannot provide power to the shuttle train. * Harness restraint system
* or Coach Gravity Harness System
*
* An improved harness restraint system for a vehicle seat occupant which includes a unique single-point release device having laterally spaced connectors for attachment of shoulder harness straps. The system also includes an improved harness belt system employing a cross-chest belt configuration as well as a gross adjustment feature for -adjusting the harness assembly straps to substantially approximate the occupant. The new system also provides diverging lower restraint belts which encircle each leg of the occupant for anti-gravity and crash restraint. The single-point release device also includes an automatic release mechanism which is activated in a water or vacuum environment. The Gravity Harness, also uses selected anti force field technology-using fields, structural integrity fields and such.Like the , Rangers Tunnel Stalkers believe in many backup systems,to protect the user ,in case an emergency and sort of back power failure. Rangers also wear Anti gravity Jackets, incorporated into their pilot and combat gear,to assist the gravity harness, during movement and sudden .
* Several pistols, a few rifles, and other assorted weaponry hidden behind a wall-panel behind the map at one end of the railway car. Various transport Cargo and Troop Carrier cars can be added if needed,by train umbilical cords and passenger corridor access points, fitted to each train front and back-or bow and aft sections.
* Anti-Gravity Systems Gravity on board a vessel is maintained at 1.0 G (Terran Normal) by the AG systems. The AG systems are tunable, so that internal gravity may be varied from 0 to 4 G's. The Anti-Gravity system also contains artificial-intelligence (AI) software, so that all accelerations up to a 1000 G's are automatically compensated for (accelerations of this order of magnitude may occur when going from sub-pulse to pulse speeds). Nanobot Maintenance Systems Sub Shuttle Trains maintain a suite of nanobots for repairing hardware. These nanobots are sub-microscopic robots with molecular level encoding for specific tasks. At the completion of any task, the nanobots revert to silicon dust (inert). The nanobots are generated by using the nanobot generator or Nanobot banks), located in the Engineering work spaces. Navigational Sub-Systems Navigational sub-systems consist of dishes located on the exterior of the vessel, the control station on the bridge, and all op ti-conducting systems between them. The maintenance of the navigational holographic image projection systems (), and all intelligent signal processing software, is also the responsibility of Engineering. Sensor Sub-Systems Sensor, or scanner, sub-systems consist of two types: (a) active, and (b) passive. Active systems can be detected by the target; passive systems are non-intrusive, cannot be detected by the target, and rely on emissions or disturbances caused by the target. Note that cloaking of the target (generally) negates passive sensors. Due to their highly classified nature, sensor systems are not discussed further in this document. (see Systems Ratings) Communications Sub-Systems Communications uses photon or tachyon pulses, which contain highly compressed and (in official use) encrypted text. The compression and encryption techniques are based on chaotic theory. Engineering is responsible for maintaining the comm systems in optimum condition (transmitters, receivers, , and all associated connections). Weapons Delivery Systems The weapons delivery systems on each vessel are all automatic. However, regular functionality checks are carried out by Engineering. Also, Missile and Pulse Cannon tracking systems (software and hardware) are maintained by the Shuttle Engineer. Life-Support Systems There are ten oxygen conversion systems located throughout the sub shuttle-because the outside sub shuttle transit system is a complete vacuum and emergency catwalk,is only flooded with oxygen at standard station platforms and emergency situations. The Sub Shuttles need to provided with a complete habitable environment inside and not rely on any external environment to provide a breathable atmosphere outside. Only five are needed to replenish the oxygen for a full complement of personnel; the others are backup. These systems all have independent power sources (superconducting cells) - in cases of dire emergency, power from these cells may be diverted to the vessel's defensive grid. Back-Up Power Systems Back-up power systems (used in the event of a pulse core failure or power down) consist of two inverter-generators with superconducting storage cells. These use natural resources (e.g., waste) to produce small amounts of power; this power is stored in the cells, and can be used to generate 20 minutes of maneuvering power. In dire emergencies, power from the back-up systems can be diverted to the vessel's defense grid. External/Internal Cohesion Fields Systems To counteract the forces encountered while engaging the propulsion systems, each vessel is equipped with both an External and Internal Cohesion Field. These fields, created by specific field generators, use internal power to divert forces exerted without and within the shuttle train that would normally tear the ship apart, and compensate for inertial effects within the shuttle, to maintain a sense of normal gravity. When functioning ideally, no forces would be noticeable while engaging the entire range of the drive systems.
* Tunnel Stalkers sub-shuttle could get you near your destination sometime, since not all cities and towns have a Sub Shuttle Transport Station. Thus at those times, a Ranger, such as Captain must rely on the two Spikes-semi sentient speeder bikes, that are kind of like motor cycle horses to your destinations, thus giving you some travel time. These are intelligent, in the way, that can respond to its users verbal and mental commands if he or she, wears a telepathic guider gem, to transmit mental commands to the Spike cycle. Spikes can also equipped with sorts of weapons, from smoke canisters to mini rocket missile or grenade launchers. The Spike has Left and right forward firing rocket launchers with heat seeking missiles. Dual smoke screen dispensers. Rear firing dual flame throwers with an 80 yard range and two side Oil slick dispenser’s .Spikes also have a mini sensor array to located possible targets and scout the upcoming terrain. So if you encounter any hostiles, like a Spider Walker or Spider , the Ranger, such as can handle him quite well with trusty Spike Comanche 5000, as his companion.
* Rangers, often carry a variety of paraphernalia and weapons, on their multi exploration and tunnel patrol missions. Rangers wear a kind of light combat fatigues that also acts as limited battle armor. Over this is the Combat Weapons twine bandoleer, which holds their ammo cartage's and other field items. At the center of this is a small, limited deflector field circular shield, that emits a small, personal force field around the wearers chest area, to deflect bullets and other propelled projectiles. Short swords and long knives can pastorate this field in close personal hand to hand combat. Over this is a Combat Utility vest that acts as Additional combat armor and means to carry other items, with the garments pockets. The back is heavy armored with force field deflector generators and trauma plates. Standard military pants are worn below, with heavy military style combat boots. Bayonets, is worn upon one shin area of the boot and a Stun baton is worn, within a scabbard upon the other. A second larger Stun Combat baton is worn over the upper thigh, usually opposite the Navy Colt model number 355a.
*

[edit] 3 ==Weapons==

* The Stun Combat baton, is a long hand weapon, resembling a standard samurai sword handle, with a long silver, rotating metal rod, about 11 inches, that can ejected from the handle. by a control stud on the side and drawn by a quick jerk of the users wrist. It can withdraw the same way. The stun rod shaped device approx. 20.32 cm in length (excluding handle) which stimulates the pain or pleasure centers of the recipient's brain through the use of sonics. No physical damage is caused by the Stun rod’s effect. The Stun Combat baton circuitry includes multiple transformers batteries located within the control handle, components that boost the voltage in the circuit, typically to between 20,000 and 150,000 volts, and reduce the amperage. It also includes an oscillator, a component that fluctuates current to produce a specific pulse pattern of electricity. The Stun baton was developed in the final days of the Great First Cataclysm to control enemy of war troops and enemy criminals among civilian populations. It was based on similar type devices used by the Elder Races, such as the , in their ancient times for similar uses. The Stun Combat baton is regarded as a symbol of honor, and confers dignity. among the Rangers if used properly and correctly. The weapon is worn within a leather scabbard, like a knife or small sword. It has been known effect against enemy opponents during close combat to subdue them being taken prisoner for questioning. or Military Police used them against drunken or violent soldiers, to subdue them for transport to jail. The Stun Combat baton has also been known to shock the tentacles of enemy Sentry robots, attacking a Ranger Sub Shuttle. The larger Stun Baton has Internal mechanisms allow the cable to be neatly wound and unwound, while a powerful spring launches the grapnel. The handle can be straightened for use when throwing. The club can also be split into two parts, one of which is a fighting baton, the other of which ends in a curved hook. This Grappling hook can be used to catapult a long Bucky cable that can used wrap around objects, for capture or used to swing the user high above over someones head or swing about like a human spider. The Rangers learn extreme accuracy when throwing his club, and can hit multiple enemies with ricochets. This club can set also to stun someone or something, while thrown.
*
* This club can set also to stun someone or something, while thrown.
* The Sub Shuttle can be piloted by remote control to a specific location, as long as it travels toward its route. The shuttle will, even if need be follow it’s master, the Ranger/Tunnel Stalker around, until he or she can reach it at a specific Sub Transit System station-as long as it avoids all other Cargo ,passenger or troop shuttles.
* Using advanced technologies, the sub shuttles can reach speeds of 300 to 5,000 mph (500 to 8,000 km/h) are envisioned. The sub shuttle transit system entail building lines through evacuated (air-less) tunnels... The lack of air resistance could permit to move at extremely high speeds, up to 6000-8000 km/h (4000-5000 mph or Mach 5-6), provided nothing interferes with the shuttle trains progress. such as a breach in the tunnel, under an ocean, allowing water or a cave in by the tunnel way walls. In an event, the sub shuttle tunnel, encounters a cave in or beach of the outside environment, the shuttles anti collision sensors will detect the oncoming trouble area and begin to slow the train by the shuttles AI auto pilot. Deflector Shields will also automatically snack on, from the Sub Shuttles Deflector Shield Emitters. This clear out any debris found up ahead, as the shuttle moves forward at half speed. In an event, the sub shuttle cannot stop, the pilot can take over control of the shuttle and order ramming speed or maximum speed, to crash through the debris area-provided their wreckage area, is not too heavy to plough through.
* Generally, the Sub Transit System twine tunnels-one going one direction and another going in the opposite direction to provide enough traffic to and from a specific sub shuttle transit route. In an emergency, an auxiliary sub shuttle tunnel is found to transfer a sub shuttle train, in the event, there is some sort of malfunction with the Sub Shuttle Transit Traffic Control and two oncoming trains occupy the same track. The sub shuttle is reroute to the third rail way, so it can avoid any possible collision upward within the tunnel way.
* The tunnel uses massive vacuum pumps, to remove air, so the sub shuttle can travel at 5,000 mph per hour and avoid any basic air resistance. Huge Utility conduits, many filled air, for small human repair works to survey personally, the 3,100 power cables, that power the tunnel rails. These lead to larger work stations, to help inspect the tunnels watertight and vacuum-tight gasket outer skin. Constructed with stainless steel, with layers of super buoyant foam, often need inspection by humanoid androids or humans, especially ,since the tunnels can damaged by Sentry activity. Large, long windows can be found along, underwater tunnel ways, so passengers can view the ocean depths and undersea lifeforms found there. These tunnels, anchored by huge tethers, more 100,000 of these to hold the undersea tunnels in place. The tunnels float about 150 feet below the ocean surface to avoid undersea traffic ,such as with Submarine traffic, in and are pressurized to help maintain standard equilibrium between outside and inside environments, plus swaying while under the sea. Certain areas of the Sub Transit System also contain emergency shelter areas, which can be used by passengers trapped within the tunnel by a tunnel collapse at either or both ends. These like the abandoned Sub Transit System concourse and underground shopping malls, are used by inhabitants. Some of these areas contains Emergency Shelter areas, that can provide Time Vault-area, created by the , as place equipment, artifacts, storage material are preserved. These Vaults contain food and clothe Replicators, that provide food, drink and other items like clothing, to used by anyone, who can gain access to this area. Sometimes the Tunnel Stalkers will use area as an emergency place for clothe, food and shelter, of a Sub Shuttle is trapped within the tunnel or damaged. These area also provide Ranger field rations or Meals Ready to Eat ( M.R.E’s)-a is a self-contained, individual field ration in lightweight packaging procured by many military organization. Each meal provides approximately 1,200 Calories (1,200 or 5,000 ). General contents include: a main course high in starch; crackers; a cheese, peanut butter, or jelly spread; a dessert or snack; powdered beverage mix; an accessory packet; a plastic spoon; a beverage bag; and a ration heater (),when replication food is not available.

Aaron Stark's vision was of his presumably dead daughter. In "137 Sekunden" it's confirmed that the remains buried at her grave site are indeed hers. They didn't go into detail about how they verified this. I thought they said in a previous episode that her body was mutilated beyond recognition. Did they get DNA results back that fast?
